Glass shelves
6mm Clear Glass Shelf
Short shelves inside cabinets and niches.
About this glass
6mm glass suits short shelves supported at both ends: inside a display cabinet, a bathroom niche or a bookcase with shelf pins.
Polished edges are selected by default; tap Toughened to add toughening. We recommend toughening for anything but a small, lightly loaded shelf inside a closed cabinet.

Questions
How thick should a glass shelf be?
It depends on the length between supports and what sits on it. 6mm suits short shelves in cabinets supported at both ends. For longer spans or heavier items go to 8mm or 10mm, and use 10mm or 12mm for floating or bracket shelves. See the shelf thickness guide.
Should my shelf be toughened?
For most shelves, yes. Toughened glass is much stronger and breaks into small blunt pieces. Untoughened shelves are only sensible for small, lightly loaded shelves inside a closed cabinet.
Can you make a shelf with rounded corners or holes?
Not through the online calculator. Email us your drawing and we will price it.
What size should I order for a cabinet?
Measure inside the cabinet and take off a few millimetres on each dimension so the shelf drops in without scraping. The guide on measuring explains how much to allow.
