Glass with a Pet Door Cutout, Sydney

Toughened glass with a hole cut for a pet door, made to your size and delivered across metro Sydney. Pick your pet's size or enter the cutout from your pet door's instructions, set the glass size, and the price updates as you go. Toughened glass can't be cut after it is made, so the hole is cut first, then the glass is toughened.

Drawn to scale. The dog is a Cavoodle, Australia's most popular breed, about 38 cm at the shoulder.

Measure the glass itself, not the door opening. The glass sits a little inside the frame, so measure the old glass or the frame rebate.

Which size do I need?

The hole size comes from the pet door you buy, so check its instructions first. As a guide, glass-fitting pet doors sold in Australia usually need about:

  • Small (cats and small dogs, flap about 195 × 185 mm): a round hole about 267 mm across.
  • Medium (dogs like Cavoodles and Beagles, flap about 300 × 270 mm): a round hole about 385 mm across.
  • Large (dogs like Labradors, flap about 300 × 370 mm): a hole about 353 wide × 425 mm high.

Put the bottom of the flap a little below your pet's belly height so they step through without crouching.

Why does the whole pane need replacing?

A hole can't be cut in toughened glass, and most sliding and patio doors have toughened safety glass. So the new pane is made with the hole already cut, then toughened. We supply the glass; you or your installer fit the pane and the pet door.

Holes, notches or rounded corners for something else?

Send us the sizes and a sketch through the quote form and we will reply with a price.
