About this glass

Sunergy is a solar control glass: its coating reflects a large share of the sun's heat while still letting daylight in, so north and west facing rooms stay cooler.

8mm is stiff enough for small glass shelves on brackets, coffee table tops and partitions in a frame. Tap Toughened if it needs to be safety glass. Toughened glass is about four to five times stronger than ordinary glass and breaks into small blunt pieces, which is why it is required in doors, showers and low windows. It cannot be cut or drilled afterwards, so check your sizes before ordering.

Which side does the coating go?

The coating usually faces inside on single glazing. We mark the coated side; check with your glazier for your frame.

Is Low-E the same as double glazing?

No. Double glazing insulates more, but a Low-E laminated pane like ComfortPlus gets much of the way there in an existing single-glazed frame.
